We are building the Resolutions Ecosystem

The Resolutions Ecosystem is our platform and the courts, government agencies, ombuds offices, mediators and businesses that run on it — giving the people they serve the tools to resolve their own disputes, at any scale. Behind it are 25 years of work, including the eBay and PayPal resolution centers, which still resolve more than 60 million disputes a year.

The ODR.com resolution platform is a win across the board — nobody’s going to lose on this system. Between the litigants, law enforcement, and the court, it’s a time saver for everyone.

What stands out is ODR.com’s level of engagement. It doesn’t feel like a transactional vendor relationship — we feel supported, and there’s a real focus on making sure the system works for both the court and the public.

From early innovations two decades ago to today, the experts behind ODR.com have had an impact that has been worldwide, and their collaborations continue to deliver ODR services at the cutting edge.

Part of the American Arbitration Association family

The American Arbitration Association exists to help people resolve disputes fairly, affordably and out of court — the same purpose as ours, and one it has served since 1926. ODR.com is part of that organization, and the platform is built and operated in service of that mission.

For the organizations we serve, it means the platform runs under the governance of a century-old institution, by people accountable to its standards.

We have built these systems for courts, government and ombuds offices

ODR.com’s leaders designed and built the largest online dispute resolution systems ever created, and introduced concepts and system designs that others have used to build their own platforms around the world. That expertise comes from more than 200 implementations — in courts, in government agencies, in ombuds offices, and inside some of the largest marketplaces on the internet.

The platform is a set of preconfigured modules. Each one exists because we solved that problem somewhere else first — so you are selecting from what already works.

That is also why implementation looks different here. You choose the modules that fit how your organization already operates, and our team handles the integration, the migration and the setup. Ready when you are.

We know how to make these systems succeed

The resolution system we built for eBay and PayPal in 2006 is still running. Not a pilot and not a proof of concept — two decades of continuous production, at a volume that has tested every design decision in it.

We still believe this field is just getting started. Even as ODR has spread around the globe over the last twenty years, we remain confident the biggest breakthroughs are still ahead of us.

What people ask before they call

ODR.com was founded by Colin Rule and Chittu Nagarajan — the architects who built eBay and PayPal’s online dispute resolution systems. Colin Rule was eBay’s first Director of Online Dispute Resolution, hired in 2003. Chittu Nagarajan founded ODRIndia the same year.
Our founders designed and built the eBay and PayPal resolution centers starting in 2003. Those systems still resolve more than 60 million disputes a year, roughly 90% of them without staff involvement. The methodology behind them is what the ODR.com platform is built on.
ODR.com is SOC 2 certified, meaning our security and availability controls are independently audited rather than self-attested. We are also part of the American Arbitration Association family, which brings institutional governance to how the platform is operated and maintained.
Only where your organization decides it should. In every deployment, the client defines which outcomes are handled automatically and which escalate to a person. Automation is bounded by rules the organization sets.
ODR.com is part of the American Arbitration Association family. AAA has been resolving disputes continuously since 1926. For an institution putting a system in front of the public for the next decade, that backing matters as much as the software.
Our founders have worked in online dispute resolution since 1999, when they launched Online Resolution — one of the first ODR service providers in the world. That is 25 years and more than 200 platforms built.
